On the 23rd of February, Avaya announced it advanced to “Leader” position with Avaya Spaces in The Aragon Research Globe for Team Collaboration 2022. Avaya Spaces is an all-in-one, AI-powered solution with calling, video meetings, chat, posts, file sharing, and task management capabilities empowering users with faster, always-on continuous collaboration. On the 13th of April 2021, Extron electronics announced that it will be supporting Point Park University in Pittsburgh on its journey to enrich athletics program with an exciting foray into esports. In addition to competitive gaming, students enrolled in the program work with the coach and support staff to learn about the back-of-house processes and supporting technologies. These include AV streaming, casting, event planning and execution, graphic design, and videography. Integration firm RPC Video, Inc. designed and installed the high-performance AV system for the new esports training facility. Extron XTP Systems along with the SMP 111 streaming media processor and Pro Series control products provide the kind of system performance necessary for in-depth training and a seamless competitive gaming experience.

On the 8th of March, Avaya released a new video devices designed to significantly improve workstream collaboration. This includes a redesigned Avaya Vantage\u2122 K155 with Amazon Alexa built-in, as well as a new Avaya Huddle Camera HC010. The Avaya Vantage K155 has been redesigned to deliver a new level of simplicity and productivity for the home office worker, providing a horizontal touch screen and physical keypad. It is also provides a high-definition camera, wideband audio, wireless connection and new “screen shifting” technology to enable new flexibility when participating in a meeting. Avaya has also integrated Amazon Alexa into the Avaya Vantage\u2122 portfolio to provide easy access in the workplace to Alexa capabilities that many are accustomed to using in their home.

On the 16th of December, Crestron announced the launching of the new smart home office companion, the Crestron Home Audio Conferencing System (UC-MM30-R). First ever device designed specifically for best home office experience. The new solution combines MM30-R- a sleek home office solution for today’s work-from-home workforce and enables full control of a Crestron Home. The MM30-R is designed to easily convert any office into a conferencing space. The modern, low-profile design includes a 7-inch high-resolution touch screen, a high-fidelity speaker, and four-microphone array that captures 360-degree, long-range pickup. Suitable to be paired with both Mac and PC, Crestron Audio Conferencing system will provide the best control qualities for conferencing in the hybrid work environment. 

On the 1st of December, Siklu, a global leader in Fixed 5G millimeter wave (mmWave) solutions for Gigabit Wireless Access (GWA), in a cooperation with Schréder, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of outdoor lighting systems, introduced an initiative to create the first-ever “Wireless Smart Pole”. Estimated launching date is the 1Q of the 2021 year. Under the name of “SHUFFLE Wireless Backhaul”, the Smart Pole is constructed of rotatable and interchangeable modules that seamlessly integrate various LED lighting options, security cameras, Wi-Fi Access Points, EV charging sockets, audio speakers and small cells for 4G/5G mobile networks. The goal of partners is to achieve a great connectivity, l without compromising aesthetics. For this reason SHUFFLE integrates all components into a sleek and attractive unit measuring approximately between 3 and 7 meters high, depending on what modules are chosen. 

On the 4th of November, Extron announced immediate availability of the DTP2 T 204, a four-input switcher with integrated DTP2 transmitter for sending HDMI and control up to 100 meters over a shielded CATx cable to an Extron DTP-enabled product. It supports computer and video resolutions up to 4K/60 at 4:4:4 color sampling. “We designed the DTP2 T 204 to be flexible and robust, with true 4K/60 switching capability plus long-distance signal transmission,” says Casey Hall, Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing for Extron. “With four HDMI inputs, auto-input switching, and Ethernet capabilities, it has the versatility to be the central switcher for meeting and classroom AV intallations, as well as being integral to larger DTP Systems.”

On the 1st of October, Crestron announced the launch of Crestron ONE app for workplace control, available from any personal device. Crestron ONE allows employees and guests to securely control room technology from their own touch-screen, securing contactless automation and facilitation of the room. Solution works from Crestron TSW 60-Series touchscreen via direct Bluetooth connection, without requiring devices to reside on the same network. “We understand that companies are faced with myriad tasks and are working with a broad range of HR, real estate management, and AV and IT support staff,” said Stijn Ooms, Director Product Strategy AV and Digital Workplace at Crestron. “Our team has worked diligently to bring the Crestron ONE mobile room control experience to market, delivering the highest standards of security and simplicity that we require from our mobile devices.”
